Our Story

Where it all began

Dec 2016

Just like all Irish fairy tales, this one also begins in a pub. It was a cold December night when Ciaran and Chloe' paths crossed - little they know at the time that their lives would change forever. With a Guinness in one hand and a Grogan’s ham/cheese toastie in the other, Ciaran still somehow managed to charm Chloe into agreeing to meet again.

The first date

Dec 2016

The following week, Ciaran and Chloe ventured back into town. A mini-pub crawl ensued with the night culminating in Chloe drinking Whiskey for the first… and last ever time. Even the bitter taste of jamey/ginger wasn't enough to turn Chloe off the scent of Ciaran.

Making a house a home

Sept 2018

Over time, Chloe unofficially made the move from Coolamber to Orwell. Linda and Dave’s loss was Ursula and Derry’s gain as there was ‘another woman around the house for the chats’. Ciaran’s humble wardrobe was collapsing under the weight of Chloe’s love of clothes… it was time to look for a place of their own. Chloe and Ciaran moved into their new home on Sept 14th 2018.

Two becomes three(ish)

Oct 2018

Chloe and Ciaran decided to take a trip to the DSPCA one sunny Saturday to ‘look at all the cute dogs’ as Chloe put it. One week later Banksy arrived and the previously pristinely clean house was no more. Words of warning - don’t go to the DSPCA when fragile from a hangover - unless, of course, you want to adopt a furry friend for life.

The proposal

Ciaran had mentioned on multiple occasions that Christmas engagements were conventional and cliche. One day, while pondering how best to pop the question, he had an epiphany! Based on his known dislike for Christmas engagements, this would, indeed, be the optimum time for surprising Chloe. So, on the morning of December 25th 2018, much to the amazement of Chloe, Ciaran asked her to marry him. After what seemed like an eternity, as Chloe slowly recovered from the shock, she thankfully said yes!
